If we're talking about value for money, this is terrible coffee. The taste in unremarkable - a bit of acidity on top of a roasty body. It even has some woody notes. It's similar to what you can achieve in a £5 blend, perhaps one with some robusta in it as well. Now, is HR Higgins bad? Is this a scam? I don't think so. Perhaps once upon a time blue mountain Jamaican coffee was better than now, and perhaps it was significantly better than the coffee you could by 10 or 20 years ago from most places. It's still definitely better than supermarket coffee or say star bucks. It's a medium roast. It's a bit buttery. It's nice. But HR Higgins' own e.g. Kenyan coffee is about 3 times better, and about 5 times cheaper. So overall something like a 15x better multiplier? My own opinion is that they should stop selling this coffee, it drags down their name and risks disappointing customers. Don't buy it.
